Dr Yijun Zhou

Lecturer in Quantity Surveying

School of Built Environment

Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on low-carbon construction, end-of-life management of wind turbine blades, BIM-LCA integration, and off-site constrcution. She has led and participated in several competitive research projects funded by national and institutional schemes and maintains strong collaborations with industry partners and international research teams. Her work has been published in leading international journals and contributes to the advancement of sustainable practices in the construction and energy sectors.

She currently serves as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Construction Management, a Guest Editor for Buildings, and a Co-Coordinator of CIB Working Commission W116. She was awarded the HDR Top Application Award at Western Sydney University in 2023 and 2024 in recognition of excellence in research publications and academic performance. She is actively involved in journal peer review, conference organisation, and international research networks, contributing to the development of high-quality research and academic communities.

In teaching, Dr. Zhou delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in construction measurement, cost estimation, procurement, and project management. She is committed to student-centred and research-informed teaching, with a strong emphasis on professional skills, critical thinking, and real-world application. She actively supervises Master’s and PhD students and supports early-career researchers in developing high-quality research outputs.

Through her teaching, research, academic service, and industry engagement, Dr. Zhou aims to promote innovation, sustainability, and professional excellence in the built environment.

Dr. Yijun Zhou is a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying in the School of Built Environment at Massey University, New Zealand. She holds a PhD in Construction Management and specialises in sustainable construction, life cycle assessment (LCA), and digital technologies for the built environment.
